You Did It Again!

Another successful auction – this time at a NEW location in Hampton, Virginia. Bidders responded with energy and enthusiasm to help raise funds for the Lions Charity Foundation. If you missed this year’s auction you missed a doozy. A huge array of quality items went up for bid and were won by enthusiastic bidders at unbelievably rock-bottom prices. Deals were everywhere. The Charity Foundation and bidders were all winners. The Hampton Baptist Youth catered to hungry bidders selling delicious BBQ, burgers and dogs with all the accoutrements, including desserts. The BBQ was so popular that they sold out before the auction ended. The meals were absolutely scrumptious generating needed funds for youth projects.

Three Lions Clubs; Williamsburg Host, Windsor and Thalia were the top auction producers by amassing the highest cumulative value total of items to be auctioned, each qualifying for a $250 Service Grant. Three more Lions Clubs; Boykins, Princess Anne and James City, won a drawing consisting of clubs who collected auction items valued at $50 or more. Each of these club winners will receive a $250 service grant. Twelve (12) Lions Clubs will also receive a $250 service grant for achieving their attendance goal at the auction. They are: Chesapeake Host, Denbigh, Hampton Mercury, Hampton Phoebus, Little Creek, Ocean View, Smithfield, Thalia, VB Town Center-Blind, Williamsburg Host, Windsor and Woodstock.

One of the highlights of the auction was the Charity Raffle. The drawing held at the conclusion of the auction produced the following winners: 1st Place – Nancy Hudgins of Mathews $1,000; 2nd Place – Theresa Willis of Virginia Beach $500; 3rd Place – Bert Bull of Williamsburg $250. The Suffolk Rods and Muscle Car Club again showed their generosity by presenting the Foundation with a check in the amount of $2,500. The Foundation expresses our sincere thanks for this contribution to our charity funds. A special thank you to the Hampton Baptist Church and their wonderful staff for their generosity and making us feel so welcome.
